Join Us for a Welcoming Walk Through Sunderland’s Landmarks
Take part in an inclusive walking experience across some of Sunderland’s most cherished sites. Our friendly group embraces individuals of all fitness levels and personal needs, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable pace for everyone.
Landmarks on our route include:
Roker Park and Pier
The National Glass Centre
Fulwell Mill and Nature Reserve
The Fans Museum
Winter Gardens and Mowbray Park
Why participate? Engaging in physical activity in natural environments—such as parks and coastal spaces—has been shown to deliver significant health benefits, including:
Enhanced mental and physical well-being
Improved sleep quality
Lower blood pressure
Support for weight management
Reduced stress and fatigue
Decreased symptoms of depression
These outcomes are supported by research conducted by Yen, Chiu, and Huang (2021), which highlights the positive impact of exercise in green and blue spaces.
Sessions will last approximately 2-3 hours, including breaks.
The first session will take place at Fulwell Resource Centre.
